The short answer for a business with payroll: our Steadfast Operating Package is typically $800–$1,200 per month for one operating entity. Tax returns are quoted separately. Cleanup of old books is folded into the first 60 days of the monthly fee.
That range is not a menu price. Here is what moves a quote up or down.
What drives the price
- Headcount and pay frequency. More employees and weekly pay cycles mean more payroll work and more filings.
- Transaction volume. A shop with 2,000 card transactions a month takes more time than a service firm with 300.
- State of the books. Clean QuickBooks files are cheap to keep clean. A file that is months behind needs rebuilding first.
- Number of entities. The package covers one operating entity. A second company or a holding structure is quoted on top.
What the monthly fee includes
- Books closed by the 15th: P&L, balance sheet, bank and card reconciliations
- Payroll run, taxes withheld, people paid on time
- Washington filings handled: DOR, L&I, PFML, WA Cares
- A tax-ready file all year, so April is not a scramble
- Willson on the phone, with a same-day callback
Why a $200 bookkeeper is a different product
A bookkeeper at that price records transactions. They generally do not run payroll, file Washington returns, or answer for the numbers as a CPA. If your business has employees, someone also has to own the Washington filings and the penalties that come with missing them. If you only need transactions entered, that is a real option and we are not the right fit.
